About “Happy New Year”

About “Happy New Year”

It’s that time when one reflects on the year that passed, on everything that happened, the accomplishments, the complete overview of what 2014 was all about. And it’s that time of the year when you can’t help but wonder what 2015 will bring, when you hope for good heath and when you decide on your goals and make a mental (or written) plan to achieve them. We’re probably posting this article right about when you’re rounding up your personal development plan or New Year’s resolutions for 2015. We’re all on the same boat :)

Just before the end of the year, as an inspiration for the year to come, we thought we’d share some words of wisdom… and no, we didn’t come up with them ourselves ;) we learned them from books we’ve recently read (Manu – Essentialism by Greg McKeown) and alltime favourites (Presi - The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry).

Manu - Essentialism: Part II Explore: A Mind Invited to Play: “The value of play in our lives can’t be overstated(…) Is it any wonder that often the times we feel most alive, those that make up our best memories, are moments of play? Play expands our minds in ways that allow us to explore: to germinate new ideas or to see old ideas in a new light. It makes us more inquisitive, more attuned to novelty, more engaged. Play is fundamental(…) and it stimulates the parts of the brain involved in both careful, logical reasoning and carefree, unbound exploration

Presi - The Little Prince: “All grown-ups were once children… but only few of them remember it”(…) And the little prince added, “But eyes are blind. You have to look with the heart.”

I guess what we’re trying to say is that, if things get overcrowded and stressful (as they sometimes do), don’t forget about your childhood years, take a break and play. Also, don’t forget to challenge yourselves and do something new and exciting every now and then. Therefore, right before popping the champagne, we want to wish you a Happy New Year, a jolly, productive and prosperous 2015, abundant of many beautiful moments together with your friends and family. Last but not least, we would like to thank you for all the support and constructive feedback you have offered us! We’re looking forward to writing our way into 2015 :)
